Elective Courses for 2017-2018
Advanced Placement Calculus
Only Pre-Calculus Honors seniors with a 3.3GPA average in Pre-Calculus are eligible to take AP Calculus.
Finance and Government
Financial topics include an understanding of stocks and bonds, certificates of deposit, loans, mortgages, credits cards, and interest rates. Personal finances such as the proper way to keep a checkbook and how to prepare an individual income tax return. The government portion of the class addresses how government is constructed and the dynamics of its function.
This class focuses on areas of diet and nutrition as well as exercise and lifestyle activity as it relates to its effects on the human body.
Grades 11 and 12
Available for Honors Science Juniors and Seniors.
Life Skills and Guidance Planning
This class provides detailed planning which is necessary for students who will be attending college after high school as well as students moving directly into the work place. In addition the class teaches, a whole range of practical decision making that students will face after graduation are addressed.
Grades 10, 11, and 12
Available for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors
Honors Spanish III
Available for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. All students are required to take two years of Spanish.
AP US History
Available for Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors with a 3.3GPA in High School History Class.
Grades 9 through 12
Available for all students. The school drama department produces 1-2 plays per school year.
Available for all students.
Elective for grades 11 and 12; required for grades 9 and 10.
Available for all high school students.
